About Hochgesang Modern Therapy

Hochgesang Modern Therapy was established in 2024 as a single-clinician private practice.

Currently, HMT offers virtual therapeutic services to individuals and couples age 13+ residing in Indiana.

HMT accepts private pay, FSA/HSA, and is working diligently with multiple insurances to become an in-network provider.

Meet the Team

Luke Hochgesang, LMHC

Founder, President, Clinician

Luke has worked with clients of all ages and diagnoses but specializes in working with clients diagnosed with Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and PTSD. Luke also works with couples on relationship issues and is a proud Ally of the LGBTQ+ population.
Luke is a fully-licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) here in the state of Indiana.
He received his Associate licensure (LMHC-A) after passing the NCAC in 2021. After the mandatory two-years, Luke became fully licensed (LMHC) after passing the NCMHCE in 2023.
In 2021, Luke received his Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana State University.
Before that, Luke received his Bachelors in Kinesiology with a Major in Exercise Science from Indiana University - Bloomington in 2019.
Luke also received his Associates Degree from Vincennes University in 2017. Though the least prestigious of his degrees, Luke holds this degree in the highest regards for giving him the push to continue his pursuit of higher education.
Luke began his career serving as a Home-Based Therapist for children and families. His primary work was with those involved in the Department of Child Services and Child Protective Services.
He then took an opportunity to work at the very schools (and often with the very teachers) that educated him by becoming a school district's School-Based Therapist. This allowed him to see students from K-12 in the schools during the day.
Currently, Luke works as a Staff Therapist for a Community Mental Health Center, working with a multitude of populations and a multitude of diagnoses in a multitude of stages of life.
Luke was born and raised in Southern Indiana. He is an Eagle Scout and a ISSMA state champion marching band member. A fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and the St. Louis Cardinals his whole life, Luke has an appreciation for all good, healthy competition.

Therapy Dog

Iroh Hochgesang, CGC

Certainly an educated little puppy, Iroh has gone through extensive obedience trainings to prepare him for his role as a therapy dog:
- Iroh received recognition as an AKC Star Puppy in 2022 for his excellent work in the foundational elements of obedience.
- Iroh achieved the status of AKC Certified Good Canine (CGC) in 2023.
- In August 2023, Iroh passed the Therapy Dog International Obedience Test to become an official Therapy Dog.
Iroh began his professional career as a Therapy Dog in July, 2023. Working on a part-time basis, he often greets clients with his trademark tail-wagging and happily receives pets for being a good boy.
Not shy to be himself in session, Iroh likes to play with his Lambchop or chew on his special bone under his dad’s desk.
Iroh first met his Dad when he was 6 weeks old. Two weeks later, they became permanent pals. Iroh's favorite activities include going hiking with his Grandpa, boating at the lake with his Grandpa, and eating snacks with his Grandpa (seeing a pattern here?)
When he's not demolishing a LambChop or playing warriors with his best friend, Wally, Iroh is at work with his Dad.
